From 1 July 2024, Old Melbourne Gaol will feature an exciting new catering partnership with VenuesLive and Scott Pickett Group. This collaboration is set to elevate your event with dynamic and immersive culinary experiences deeply rooted in the rich heritage of the Gaol.
Located at the edge of the Melbourne CBD, these historic venues can be used for various corporate functions, including private dining for small events, through to large cocktail party events. The Old Melbourne Gaol also offers Wedding Packages and Wedding Ceremony options.
If you are looking for an event that demands to be different, you can explore a range of entertainment options. The range of interactive shows and tours allows your guests to engage with authentic historic figures such as Ned Kelly, Gaol Governors, and roaming Police Sergeants. If the paranormal intrigues you, try our popular Ghost Tours.
Start the night off and get your guests talking with the interactive Lock Up experience in the Former City Watch House. From arrest, to processing, fingerprinting, and finally lockup, all run by our ‘Sergeants’. Guests get to go into the cells that once housed past prisoners like Squizzy Taylor and Chopper Read. They can even have their mug shot taken as a gift to take with them.
