COVID-19

Important updates

We are serious about solitary confinement.

Following the Government’s announcement regarding the COVID-19 response efforts, all National Trust properties in Victoria, including the Old Melbourne Gaol are temporarily closed to the public.

The Old Melbourne Gaol will be closed to the public as of 12pm Monday, March 23.

Bookings have been cancelled for all night tours until May 1 and ticket holders have been fully refunded. If you have any questions regarding your upcoming booking please email bookings@nattrust.com.au.

The National Trust and Old Melbourne Gaol has a duty to protect the safety and well-being of our visitors, staff, volunteers and community. The Old Melbourne Gaol is taking these steps as part of Australia-wide action to contain the coronavirus.

At this stage we don’t have a scheduled date for reopening, but will continue to monitor the situation and all government advice and provide regular updates through our website and our social media, Facebook and Instagram.

While we are closed, our staff will continue to protect the museum and collection as we prepare to reopen.

Our goal is to do everything we can to help curb the spread of this outbreak in Victoria.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
