Every Saturday at 12.30pm and 2.00pm, this free live performance is staged for you to experience the truth behind Ned Kelly’s life and legend, in the very place where the iron outlaw drew his last breath in 1880.

This Gaol is a grim place. It has a dark history. Stories abound of an unexplainable presence. Over many years, these stories come from visitors and staff alike. None have been proved. Many are compelling...‘GHOSTS...WHAT GHOSTS?’ Join this night tour at the Old Melbourne Gaol—if you dare!

8.30pm, Tuesdays.

Hangman’s Night Tours

What stories would a hangman tell you if he was guiding you around the Gaol, where he was the master of the rope? What other stories from the dark side will find their way into this performance? Book the Hangman's Night Tour and find out..... if you're game?

Generally held 4 times a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8.30pm (7.30pm in winter).

Book early to avoid disappointment.- February dates available here.

Tickets are $35 for Adults, $30 for concession.
Note:This night tour is not recommended for children 12 years and under.

Explore and examine the Old Melbourne Gaol with Ghostseekers.

As Victoria's most legendary lock-up and the site of 133 hangings the Gaol housed some of our most feared criminals of its time, this is your chance to investigate paranormal activity and see what you discover!

Generally held 1 Saturday night a month, 10:30pm. (9:30pm in winter), the experience allows members of the public to conduct their own paranormal investigation with the assistance of the latest ghost hunting equipment in the many haunted cells of the Old Melbourne Gaol.
Any results obtained during an investigation are professionally analysed to explore whether the result can be rationalised through natural explanations or whether it is truly an unexplained/ paranormal result.

Watch House Experience
Australia's most arresting experience. For 30minutes you will understand what it is like to be arrested and locked up in this establishment that has changed little since it was last officially used in 1994.
*Parents note - adult themes can be confronting for children.
Arresting Experiences occur every 30 minutes from 10:30am - 4:15pm
